Many great scientist and inventors sought fame which basically led to their achievements.But for Miss Beverly, I found no great W.A.E.C results or achievemment, no daring rescue, no great selfless act, no great invention or contribution to Nigeria. So why do we care about her naked body? Big Brother Africa. Yes. Remember that show? That annoying waste of my time and TV space? Well, not criticising lovers of the show, I just never liked that show. I watched like two episodes and totally lost interest. But we aren't here to talk about BBA. We are here to talk about Beverly Osu. We are here to talk about Nigerians. We are here to talk about the fact that we now seem to accept anything mordernization throws at us.Must we  start allowing the worst of our people dominate our popular culture? The likes of Maheeda, Afrocandy and now beverly osu should not set the pace of our acceptable behaviours and norms. The west lost in terms of culture, why must we follow suit? Not everything the west does is great. I believe if their fore fathers had forseen this kind of decay in their countries when they where designing them, they would have put up preventive measures. I think they just never imagined that full functioning, well fed and educated people could ever find a way to justify walking around nude! lol .So my question to us today is , why are we allowing this same decay today.

Former AkwaIbom governor, Senator Godswill Akpabio who survived a car crash on Monday August 31st in Abuja has reportedly been flown abroad for further treatment.

Akpabio who had some injuries on his chest after the accident, was rushed to the Trauma ward of the National Hospital Abuja for treatment. He was discharged on Monday evening but was flown abroad yesterday afternoon at about 1pm aboard his private jet.

Airport sources however say he looked fit when he arrived the airport at about 12 noon.  He traveled with 5 of his aides.

One of Nigeria's most flamboyant multibillionaires and diplomats, Chief Antonio Oladeinde Fernandez, is dead.

He died on Tuesday in Brussels, Belgium, at the age of 79 from what a source close to his family described as an age-related illness.

 An unidentified commercial vehicle driver on Tuesday removed his cloths and started behaving strangely when officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps stopped his car and demanded for his vehicle particulars.

The incident happened along the busy Marian Road in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.

According to an eyewitness, the naked driver, came out of his vehicle and started behaving funny by removing his cloths.

ADVERTISEMENT

The eyewitness, who identified himself as Raheem Bayoor, said officials of the FRSC were stunned by the behaviour of the driver and did not attempt to struggle with him as he resisted arrest.

Bayoor said, 

"The man just came out when the FRSC officials requested for his particulars and started pulling off his cloths. It is obvious that he was abnormal; a mad man behind the wheel.

"The FRSC officials were stunned and did not attempt to create any scene as it was obvious that the driver was ready for any rough encounter."

When contacted, a furious state Commander of FRSC, Mr. Ikechukwu Igwe, said he had ordered his men to trace the driver through the vehicle and get him arrested.

"We will definitely get him," he said

A photographer has captured startling photographs showing the agony and ecstasy etched on his partner's face as she gives birth to their daughter.
Gustavo Gomes documented almost every aspect of his partner Priscila's 20-hour labour with his camera and has produced a series of amazing photographs that have been lauded around the world.
The couple agreed to take the unusual step after deciding on a home birth at their house in Brazil.

The birth began late on Sunday night and continued well into the following day and Gustavo, who is a journalist, said he had tried to get Priscila to pose for pictures but was forced to give up as the pain got worse for her.
Almost everything, from Priscila pacing up and down to her wincing in agony was caught on camera.

Finally, after 20-hours, the couple's daughter Violeta was born - a moment that left Gustavo in tears.
Gustavo told the Mirror Online:

"Besides being our personal story, we hope these photos can raise awareness about natural and home childbirth in Brazil.

"Priscila and me never felt helpless during the whole process with a doula, an obstetrician and a pediatrician, and we hope that these photos can demystify natural and home childbirths and encourage future mothers to avoid unnecessary c-sections."

The proud father also revealed that he now intends to continue documenting his daughter's life throughout childhood.

The presidency has maintained that the document tagged "One Hundred Things Buhari Will Do in 100 Days" and another one, "My Covenant With Nigerians" did not emanate from the authentic channel of the campaign's media department.

  This position was made known yesterday by the Senior Special Assistant to the President, Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu.Shehu stated that what the presidency should be talking about in respect of Buhari's first 100 days in office are the "milestones" reached within the period under review, rather than "achievements".

"We prefer to talk about milestones instead of achievements. Whether the milestones represent achievements or not, that is left for the people to decide. Milestones have been achieved which is important for the country,"

"The president never promised anything to anyone. It is on record in that lecture at Chatham House they asked him a question relating to expectations and what he specifically would do in relation to certain documents that were flying around, committing him to this thing or that thing within 100 days.

"In that lecture – the video is already now viral on the web – he (Buhari) said 'it contained falsehood and I am not going to be engaged in deceit. I will go in there, I will see what is there and get the intelligence – the knowledge of things that are going on – and I will fully commit myself to serving Nigeria'."

"My point is that as the Director, Media and Communications of that campaign, I was responsible for internal and external communications and these so-called documents that are being flown around did not have my signature.

I did not fund them and I did not authorise them. From what Buhari himself had said at Chatham House, he had no iota or knowledge of those documents. So people cannot hold him to account on something to which he did not commit himself."

Responding to the claim that the APC posted the documents on its website, the presidential spokesman explained that the party had many centres of communication, some of which were on the loose.

He said:

 "APC had a campaign in which there were so many centres of public communications and unfortunately there were some among those centres that were more or less on the loose.Yes, it was possible that things were being done without the knowledge or the usage of the proper channel of communications.

"We prefer to talk about milestones instead of achievements. Whether the milestones represent achievements or not, that is left for the people to decide. Milestones have been reached which is important for the country."

Shehu further quoted from the transcript of the president's response to the question posed to him in Chatham House in which he stated categorically that he would remove the idea of first 100 days because it was fraudulent.He quoted Buhari as saying: 

"The second one: high expectations and what to do with the first 100 days. Yes, I respect that question because quietly I was thinking about these high expectations.

Those who are following the trail of our campaigns can see how people are turning out, some becoming emotional and crying.
"I am really getting scared that if I get there they will expect miracles within the next (few) week or months. That would be very dicey handling that one.

"I think we have to have a deliberate campaign to temper high expectations with some reasonableness on the part of those who are expecting miracles to happen.Just to go first to the 'first 100 days', some of it is fraudulent and I don't want to participate in any fraud in any form. Nigerians know that we are in trouble as a people and as a country.When we get there we will quickly get correct intelligence of what is on the ground and inform Nigerians and just learn what I have just read.We will make sure that the misappropriation and misapplication of public resources will not be allowed. You would be surprised by how much savings we will realise. That saving will be ploughed back into development and this is what I can promise. But I would remove that '100 days'."

Osun State House of Assembly has assured its workers that the relief package given to the state would be judiciously administered, saying that they would soon have their outstanding salaries paid, while the work-in-progress of public infrastructure would be attended to.
It also vowed to drive the anti-corruption crusade with its oversight functions, promising to break bureaucratic difficulties, which are capable of dragging development at a slow pace.

The speaker, Hon. Najeem Salaam, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Goke Butikakuro, stressed that the parliament under his watch was more than ready to bring all ministries, departments and agencies to account on how budgetary funds appropriated to them were managed with a view to getting them to be on their toes and be accountable to the public.

Salaam reiterated that the state parliament has taken the first leg of its anti-corruption crusade through the passage of the procurement bill into law, stating that the law when signed by Governor Rauf Aregbesola would drive the processes of contract award, purchases of the government and other state transactions; noting that punitive measures were well spelt out for the transgressors. The Speaker also disclosed that the parliament would obtain the report of ongoing workers' audit and frisk it in order to be updated on the actual numerical strength of the work force of the state with a view to giving rough tackles to the would-be manipulators of the process.

He expressed the support of assembly to Gov. Aregbesola in plugging all the financial leakages and cutting of cost of governance.
