Politico: Poll finds majority of Americans do not trust Iran to stick to deal
A majority of Americans think Iran cannot be trusted to stick to the parameters of a nuclear agreement, according to a Monmouth University poll conducted in the days leading up to Tuesday's announcement of a final deal.
Among 1,001 adults nationwide, 55 percent said that they did "not at all" trust Iran to abide by terms of a nuclear agreement that would dismantle its program and allow for independent inspections. Just 5 percent said they trust Iran "a lot," and 35 percent said they trust Iran "a little."
On Tuesday, negotiators in Vienna announced an agreement that would lift economic sanctions on Iran in exchange for allowing international oversight and inspections of the country's nuclear sites.
WNU Editor: I am not surprised that a majority of Americans do not trust Iran .... I am also one of them. What I am surprised is that even with Iran's long history of extremism .... 35 percent said they trust Iran "a little." 35% !?!?!?! .... that is a very high number.
