Moscow Times: Russia to Build Unified Military Base in Syria, Says General

Russia's Defense Ministry is planning to create a single unified military base in Syria, a member of the General Staff said Friday.

Russia began air strikes against militant groups in Syria on Sept. 30. Moscow claims it is targeting terrorist groups, though Western analysts say Moscow's real aim is to defend Syrian President Bashar Assad.

Russia's operations in Syria have so far been conducted using two bases along the Syrian coast — a small naval station at Tartus through which supplies are funneled, and a larger military and airbase near Latakia some 90 kilometers to the north, from which air raids are launched.

YOU CAN SKIP THIS PART(short joke)...

A young couple moved into a new neighbourhood. The next morning while eating breakfast, the young woman saw her neighbour through the window hanging the wash outside.

"That laundry is not clean," she said. "She doesn't know how to wash correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry soap".

Her husband looked on, but remained silent. Every time the neighbour would hang laundry to dry, the young woman would make the same
comments.

About one month later, the woman was surprised to see nice clean wash on the line and said to her husband: "Look, she has learnt how to wash correctly. I wonder who taught her this!"

The husband replied: "I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows."

And so it is with life.

Erosion-in-OnitshaSizable parts of the federal roads of Nkpor axis of the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway and Okija area of Onitsha-Owerri Expressway in Anambra State have been destroyed by erosion.

The threat on the roads, which are now on the verge of total collapse and have become death traps to both motorists and pedestrians, draws outbursts of ‘save our soul’ from community members as well as those doing business in the area.  They want the State and Federal Government to provide immediate remedy, as lives and property are endangered.

The State’s Commissioner for Information, Uju Nwogu, who paid a fact finding visit to the area, urged the residents  staying around the area to relocate elsewhere immediately.

Mrs Nwogu also called on the Federal Government to come to the assistance of the State Government, as the erosion was already beyond the capacity of the State Government.

Erosion-in-Onitsha2

A portion of the Nkpor axis of the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway damaged by erosion.

“Half of the road has been cut off and if it is allowed to stand without any assistance from the Federal Government, the road will completely be cut off. This road leads to the biggest market in West Africa, which is the Onitsha main market,” Mrs Nwogu said.

It was indeed a scary sight as pedestrians walk with caution through the road that is virtually hanging, waiting to give way on any slightest pressure.

Houses in their hundreds, scattered near the erosion site, wore helpless looks, with road cordoned off to avoid fatality, as unsuspecting motorists might plunge into it unknowingly.

It was a deluge of complaints from business people in the area.

While the Nkpor erosion continues to raise concern, the erosion which has nearly cut off the Onitsha- Owerri road at the Okija axis, is really worrisome, as the size was not only big, but had continued to devastate farmlands, homesteads and churches.

Lamenting the menace, the Priest in charge of St. Theresa’s Parish, Uli, Dominic Nwuzo, recounted the untold hardship the erosion brought to them, saying the church has been cut off from some residents by the erosion.

Other residents also spoke about the economic implication of the erosion on the community.

Found this beautiful story on weddinginnigeria.com....Nigerian military are actually good lovers too!
According to the wedding blog,  A Nigerian Air force soldier, Tunde unveiled his romantic side yesterday by proposing to his woman at the Ikeja city mall.

His friend, Adepeiro  said
I used to think all my friend knew was to shoot a gun and obey orders until yesterday when he did this.
In a romantic way never witnessed before at Ikeja city mall, my Tunde, a Nigerian Air Force soldier, went on his knees at Seven Eagles Spur Restaurant at Ikeja City Mall in Lagos, holding a ring, and asked his sweetheart Ayo, who is a lawyer, in front of the filled up restaurant if she wanted to marry him.
The proposal happened on Sunday, 18 October, 2015, at 7 pm. I went to watch a movie and then later to get a snack when I caught a glimpse of my friend and his girlfriend now fiancée.
Salimonu Babatunde, his full name, had asked restaurant staff to sing for him because he wanted to announce something special.
As he went on his knees with the entire restaurant watching and clapping, Ayo began to shed tears of joy.
She said YES.

 Congrats to them!!

The highpoint was that treasured moment when the Made of Black heroes were invited on stage and presented with customised plaques and certificates.

The night turned out to be quite remarkable as expected, popular comedian Don General and M.O.G who were  the event hosts kept the audience entertained with their rib cracking jokes, performances of the night included the Benin comedian/artiste, Maleke as the event also gave opportunities for up and coming talents to showcase their talent.

The Benin party also witnessed high performance from the Dance crew, Dance Na The Main Thing. It was another grand evening filled with so much energy.

The Made of Black heroes were indeed appreciative of Guinness for the recognition and the opportunity to be celebrated.

Thank you Benin City! You guys gave the celebration a befitting end!

KEEP SCROLLING TO THE END ...WE STILL GOT LOTS MORE .......

Revenge is a Poison meant for others, which we end up swallowing ourselves. Vengence is a Dark Light that blinds all who seek it. Don’t argue with Idiots.. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

What we see when watching others depends on the purity of the window through which we look.

Easy to discuss other people, their lives and things that don't really concern us.

Yet we tend to forget- our window isn't that clean after all.

Clean up your window with the WORD! (THE TRUTH.)

LORD, please give us the strength, humility and courage that we may work on our faults first rather than seeing the faults in Others and castigating them.

Have a beautiful Week !
