Group launches 'Buharimeter' to track Buhari's campaign promises.
Just like the Obamameter, the Nigerian Civil Society has launched Buharimeter to track the delivery of the promises President Muhammadu Buhari made while campaigning for the 2015 general elections. So don't think it ended with campaigns, voting and the chants of Sai Buhari. Nigerians are really keen on holding the government to account.

According to Premium Times,The performance of the government will be measured using three methods.

(1) It will crowdsource Nigerians' contributions to discussions, comments on policy pronouncements of the government in achieving its set targets and surveys.

(2) It will carry out policy and media monitoring exercise.
the Buharimeter app

(3) Physical checks on projects.

The app which was built by the Centre for Democracy and Development with support from Open Society Foundation West Africa and a leading budget data analytics, Budget was launched on Monday. ‎

"Policy statements will be acquired, analysed and used as basis for gauging the performance of the government," Idaya Hassan, director of the centre stated.

ISIS EXECUTES 3 GAY MEN BY DROPPING THEM FROM THE TOP OF 100FT BUILDING. (PICTURES)

Depraved militants fighting for the Islamic State in Iraq have brutally murdered three gay men by throwing them from the top of a high building in front of a huge crowd of bloodthirsty onlookers.
Disturbing photographs of the atrocity - believed to have been taken place in ISIS' stronghold Mosul - shows one man being dangled over the edge of the building by his ankles before being dropped.

In the event the horrifically injured men are not killed upon impact with the ground, the baying crowd are encouraged to surge forward and stone them to death with a mass of rocks helpfully provided by the ISIS savages who organise the terror group's sickening public executions.

In a sequence of images, some of which are far too brutal to publish, the jihadis are seen with the men on the roof of the building before dropping them to their deaths.

In one chilling shot, a man wearing a blue tracksuit is seen being dangled over the edge of the building by his ankles by a leather-jacketed ISIS jihadi just moments away from letting him fall.

A second shots shows the blindfolded man tumbling through the air in the sitting position with his legs outstretched as he hurtles towards the ground.

The building is approximately 100 feet tall, giving the condemned men several seconds of harrowing free-fall before impacting with the ground.

One particularly gruesome image a blindfolded man with a beard is seen tumbling backwards through the air as the bloodied and mangled corpses of his fellow victims lie below.

In a horrific reminder of the local support ISIS has mustered in Mosul, the audience gathered to watch the brutal murders is so large that several militants are deployed as crowd control.

It is far from the first time ISIS savages have murdered men they accused of being gay in this way.
In fact the terror group regularly uses images of men being thrown from buildings in front of baying crowds in its sickening propaganda releases.

One particularity brutal twist is that many of the victims are not immediately killed by the fall. But as one might expect, ISIS has its own particularly barbaric contingency plan for such a circumstance.

The jihadis who organise the public executions always ensure there is a large pile of rocks on hand at the site, which the baying crowd are encouraged to use to stone any survivors to death.

This sickening twist on audience participation is believed to be why attendance at public murders is so high, with men and boys using motorbikes to travel from nearby villages for such events.

The crowds also usually contain groups of niqab-wearing women, who are granted special permission to leave their homes in order to witness the atrocities.

The images were released the U.S.-led coalition against ISIS doubled down on its strategy to fight the extremists, insisting on staying the course it set last year despite the radical group's recent conquests on both sides of the border between Iraq and Syria.

Yesterday Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi pressed his case for more support from the 25 countries in the coalition at a one-day Paris conference on fighting the militant group, organized within weeks of the fall of the Iraqi city of Ramadi and the Syrian city of Palmyra.

The coalition has mustered a mix of airstrikes, intelligence sharing and assistance for Iraqi ground operations against the extremists.

Al-Abadi said more was needed - his country reeling after troops pulled out of Ramadi without a fight and abandoned U.S.-supplied tanks and weapons.

'We will redouble our efforts,' said Deputy Secretary of State Tony Blinken, who was leading the delegation after U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry broke his leg in a cycling accident in eastern France over the weekend.

IS, Blinken said, 'stands for nothing and depends on people who will fall for anything.'

Man Sells Son For N450,000 & You Won’t Believe The Reason The Buyer Bought It

Man Sells Son For N450,000 & You Won't Believe The Reason The Buyer Bought It
Kanayo and his wife, Kelechi who cried out
A 29-year-old man, Kanayo Awurum, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly selling his son for N450,000 in the Egbe, Ikotun area of the state.

Punch Metro gathered that Kanayo, from the Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State, allegedly sold the two-year-old boy, identified as Samuel, to some middle-aged women.

Our correspondent gathered that Kanayo, who worked as a painter, reportedly lied to his wife, Kelechi, that one of the women was his relative in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and the boy was going to live with her.

It was learnt that the police had apprehended the three women ─ Nkechi Obi, Cecilia Nwatu and Gladys Nwobodo ─ for allegedly buying the child.

Our correspondent learnt that on Thursday, April 2, 2015, the women, who were working with Kanayo's friend, identified only as Emmanuel, had visited the man and his wife to purchase the boy.

It was gathered that Kanayo told Emmanuel, who is still at large, that he had some financial difficulties, and decided to sell his son for N450,000.

Speaking with Punch Metro, Kanayo said he was advised by Emmanuel to sell his child to the women.

He added that his plan was to stabilise his family with the money as his wife was pregnant with another child.
                                                          The women involved

He said, "I met Kelechi in our secondary school days in 2005. It was in 2010 that we started living together. In December 2012, she gave birth to Samuel. We were then living in Owerri, Imo State. I was working as a painter and also acted in movies. I was an upcoming actor so I was not well paid.

"From 2014, I started to have financial difficulties, and I wanted to come to Lagos to hustle. The idea to sell my child came in March 2015 when I finally decided to travel to Lagos. It was a friend, Emmanuel, who linked me to the women. I asked him to lend some money to me and he said I should use what I had to get what I wanted.

"I did not tell my wife that I wanted to sell our child. I lied to her that one of the women who came was my elder sister in Port Harcourt and our son was going to stay with her. My wife did not like the idea, but I convinced her that it was for our good.

"So, when we came to Lagos, we rented an apartment on Oluwaseyi Street in the Egbe area of Lagos. I was paid N450,000 for the boy. That was what I used to pay for the rent."

Kelechi, 28, told our correspondent that it was when she pestered Kanayo to bring her child home for a visit and the boy was not brought by the 'relative' that she suspected a foul play.

She said, "Samuel was two years and two months old when Kanayo said he was taking him to stay with his sister in Port Harcourt. In April, he went to Owerri for a painting work and promised that his sister would bring Samuel on a visit.

"On the day he promised, no one showed up. He also failed to come back to Lagos when he promised. I then told our landlord and one of his friends in Lagos, called Coach. Then, they agreed to trick my husband to come back home.

"When he arrived, they began to ask him questions and he later confessed that the boy was not actually with his relative. They went to report the matter at the Ikotun Police Division. That was how he was arrested."

Piunch Metro learnt that after the police arrested Kanayo, he was transferred to the State Special Anti-Robbery Squad.

Kanayo led SARS operatives to one of the suspected buyers, Obi, in Port Harcourt, where she was arrested.

The two other suspected buyers were later nabbed in the Agbani area of Enugu State where the baby was sold.

Our correspondent gathered that Samuel was recovered by the police last week Friday, and he had been reunited with Kelechi.

Nwatu, 42, who took the child to her house in Enugu, said she planned to raise him as her child as her biological son was disabled. She added that she paid N650,000 for the boy.

She said, "I am a mother of three. I have two girls and one boy, but my boy is deformed. He is about 10 years old. My husband did not know about it. I wanted a male child desperately to bear the family name. My boy has the Down syndrome. He could not talk."

The Police Public Relations Office, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed the arrest, adding that investigations were ongoing to get the fleeing accomplice.

Court Orders NDLEA To Suspend Extradition Process On Kashamu
A Federal High Court in Lagos has asked the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA,  to suspend all actions on the move to extradite Senator-elect, Mr. Buruji Kashamu, to the United States to face trial on alleged drug trafficking offences.

The judge while adjourning hearing in all pending applications on the subject matter till June 19, 2015, said yesterday that status quo must be maintained till all the applications were decided one way or the other.

The NDLEA is however challenging the jurisdiction of the court to entertain the matter. They are also seeking the reversal of the court order of May 26 which directed it to withdraw more than 50 of his operatives that had laid siege to Kashamu's house.

Corrie said after she had Bethany she plummeted into despair, feeling out of her depth and frequently bursting into tears. Looking back, she says she had post-natal depression, although she never went to see her GP
Taken by surprise: The 33-year-old said she had absolutely no idea how tough raising a baby would be. She is pictured left and right in 1998 when she was pregnant with Bethany.

Police AIG Lambasts Rivers CP, 3 Others
The Assistant Inspector General of Zone 6, Tunde Ogunshakin, has lashed out at the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Dan Bature, for his failure to curb the rising crime in Rivers State.

Mr. Ogunshakin, during a briefing Thursday, said the Inspector General of Police was dissatisfied with the performance of Mr. Bature, and the police commissioners in Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Ebonyi States.

"Regrettably, there has been an increase in the rate of crime and this calls for immediate strategies to be specifically devised by all of you in your respective states with a view to finding lasting solutions," said Mr. Ogunshakin, who had served as a police commissioner in Rivers State.

"From my observation, kidnapping and cultism are crimes that have been on the rise in the zone. Particularly, Rivers state command is becoming increasingly notorious for this.

"Also, some aides of the newly appointed Local Government Chairmen are being threatened with death and some of them have been killed. In this light, the Commissioner of Police, Rivers State must act convincingly by way of showing special crime fighting abilities to overwhelm and put the situation under control.

"This situation has made the Inspector General of Police to make constant phone calls to me as he is not in any way impressed."

Mr. Ogunshakin directed the police commissioners to intensify their 'stop and search' activities to recover arms, ammunition, explosives and other incriminating items stocked by the hoodlums during the electioneering period.

Mr. Ogunshakin called for increased raiding of black spots and criminal hideouts within the zone.

"This should be intensified and reports made to my office," he said. "All the arms lost by our policemen before and during the electioneering period must be recovered forthwith."

He also issued a wakeup call to divisional police officers and heads of formations.

"I am closely monitoring the performance of every DPO and Heads of Formations in your respective commands," Mr. Ogunshakin said.

"No officer should allow his domain to be made a hide-out for criminals. They must be seen to dominate their jurisdictions and exude convincing crime prevention and detection skills. There may be need for me to carry out inter-state transfers within Zone 6 Command to change officers that are not performing up to my expectation.

Mr. Ogunshakin said that there is a zero tolerance for corruption within the police.

"I have an allergy for corruption and will therefore deal decisively with officers who indulge in corrupt practices. You must warn all your officers and men to eschew any sharp and corrupt acts that will drag the image of the Nigeria Police Force into disrepute.

"My "X" Squad Team has commenced monitoring within the Zone and the names of all officers and men found wanting in their conduct is being compiled for appropriate disciplinary actions. I must emphasize that bail remains free for all cases.

"You must enjoin all officers and men under you to be professional in the performance of their Police duties. The members of the public that we serve must be treated courteously and not be brutalized."
